Quick Weight Loss Tips After Holiday Eating

Hey all. If you got to partake in any of the holiday festivities this past weekend, then you may have noticed your pants feeling a little tighter today. After eating all those great foods and desserts on Passover and Easter, I gained a couple of pounds myself. So, I thought I'd share my strategies to lose the weight before it becomes permanent.

Here are my steps to lose those holiday pounds:

  1. Weigh myself the day after the holiday eating. You have to know how much weight you gained in order to get it back under control. This will also help you to avoid continuing eating leftover holiday foods/desserts.

  2. Drink lots of water. Drinking water will help flush all the extra fat and sugar your body is not accustomed to having. It will also curb your appetite and cravings for those bad foods.

  3. Workout first thing in the morning, before you eat. This will help you burn up to three times more fat than any other time of the day (especially if you wait an hour afterwards before eating). It will also help curb your appetite throughout the day.

  4. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Eating these will help alkalize your body, allowing it to get rid of more fat. The "good sugars" and fiber from fruit will also help eliminate cravings that you may get from eating too much desserts.

  5. Move your body again later in the day. Whether you go for a short walk, or hit some squats and pushups while watching TV, move your body a second time later in the day to give your metabolism another boost. This will help rev up your metabolism allowing you to burn even more calories.

  6. Hide or get rid of any leftover bad food and desserts. If you can't throw it out, put it in the freezer or pantry. Out of sight, out of mind!

So there you go, a few simple tips to help you lose that unwanted weight. These tips will work (I've been doing it for years, and so have my clients). By the end of this week, you will have lost any excess weight gained from the holiday eating festivities.
