Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, their families and friends (including mine), whose lives were lost during this cowardly act of terrorism on September 11, 2001. Lest we forget!
I will never forget that day: I was in my dojo in NY teaching a 9am kickboxing class when my wife called me and told me she could see out her office window that someone flew a plane into one of the twin towers. No one knew at first what was really happening.
Then a second call from her: "Another plane hit the other tower, they think it’s an attack, Pick up (our son) at daycare." So, I cancelled the class and left. The streets were chaotic and it took me an hour to drive two miles to get him. When we got home we waited nervously for my wife to get home safely. Then, I waited for the mobilization call (which never came), as we watched the other attacks in the news, and waited to see if there were going to be more.
It was a terrible day that I will never forget.
What were you doing on September 11, 2001?
